Laurie Bishop, Community Health Specialist

Laurie joined LiveWell49 in the summer of 2022 and was excited to expand her role in the spring of 2023. Laurie came to Livingston in 1996, originally owning a downtown bike shop with her husband Storrs. Since then, Laurie has gone on to build extensive experience locally and statewide with non-profit administration and community coalition building.

Prior to joining LW49 Laurie led Montana Afterschool Alliance (MTAA) providing support and advocacy for Montana’s out-of-school time sector. Her previous experience includes working with communities across the state supporting the Graduation Matters Montana (GMM) initiative at the Office of Public Instruction. GMM implemented a collective impact model to improve high school graduation rates and to help communities link systems of care from early learning to adulthood.

Above all, Laurie is a champion for building a strong community and creating belonging for all. When not working, Laurie serves as a state representative in the Montana Legislature.
